Raleigh is the capital of the state of North Carolina. The city is divided into six major areas, which are: Old Raleigh (the site of the original settlement and a historic neighbourhood), East Raleigh, West Raleigh, North Raleigh, South Raleigh, and South East Raleigh.
The city possesses lot of historical and cultural places of interest, including excellent museums like the North Carolina Museum of Art, the City Museum and the Marble Museum. The city of Durham is mainly known for its castle and its cathedral, both of which get a lot of visits every year and which are musts on any trip to the city.
