
Carlsbad Caverns, in the Carlsbad Caverns National Park, is located in the United States, in the southeast of the state of New Mexico, in the Guadalupe Mountains.
The park houses a variety of caves and caverns, including the most interesting, the Carlsbad. This consists of underground chambers of great depth, and it is one of the most interesting cave systems in the world. It is possible to visit these great caverns individually or on a guided tour, either from the main entrance or using the lift. The interior of the Caverns is a wonderful panorama of spectacular limestone stalactites and stalagmites formed by dripping water. Carlsbad Caverns Park also has the largest and deepest limestone cave in the country, Lechuguilla Cave. The Caverns are home to around a million bats, and these are to be found in peaceful groups during the day, especially in the Bat Cave, located near the entrance to the Caverns.
