
Arches National Park is in Southeastern Utah, USA. It takes in an area of thirty thousand hectares that contain curious sandstone rock formations. From a distance it looks like a red desert, with the usually snow-capped LaSal Mountains to the south.
As you get closer you will see an impressive set of natural arches on the landscape. In the Information Centre you will find leaflet in different languages that explain this geological phenomenon. You will find a good camping site in the park and you will be able to try hiking, cycling and rock climbing.
You can reach Arches National Park through the north of the town of Moab, a major base for adventure tourism in Utah. From there you can also visit el the Canyonlands National Park and go rafting down the Colorado River.
