Albany is a city located about 140 miles northwest of New York City. It is the capital of New York state and is at the meeting point of the Hudson and Mohawk rivers.
Lark Street is great for good shopping and fine restaurants, while Pearl Street has bars and night clubs that have a great atmosphere. Two of Albany’s most striking buildings are the 44-storey Corning Tower and the Empire State Performing Arts Center. If you prefer something a little bit more old-fashioned, you can take a ride on a horse-drawn carriage along a route that takes in historic mansions, churches, the Capitol, the City Hall and the Hudson River Way.
You could also take a trip to the Shaker Settlement or to Dutch Pruyn’s house.
