Prestwick is a city in southern Ayrshire, just a few miles south-west of Glasgow.
Prestwick is famous as a city of aviatiors and as the venue for the first ever Open. This prestigious golfing event was held at the Old Course in Prestwick en 1860. The city is also home to two other golf courses, Saint Nicholas (which dates from 1851) and Saint Cuthberts.
Among the town’s most visited sights is the Church of Saint Nicholas, the oldest in Prestwick.
