Information about Middlesbrough

Middlesborough is the biggest city in the borough of the same name, in northeast England. It is south of the Tees River, close to the North York Moors and home to one of the United Kingdom's major ports, Teesport.

The estuary of the Tees, in the North Sea, has large beaches that are often visited by colonies of seals. The city's most symbolic landmark is the Middlesborough Transporter Bridge.

We recommend visiting the Botanical Gardens and the Dorman Museum, Captain Cook's Birthplace, the Josephine and John Bowes Museum, the Georgian theatre, Baliol Tower – which is the best preserved part of an 11th century castle on the banks of the Tees – the Town Hall with its Victorian Concert Hall, which has capacity for 1,190 people, the elegant train station and much more.

Middlesborough has a great nightlife, with good pubs, nightclubs, bingo halls, theatres and many other places to have a good night out. Apart from the Metro Centre, there are plenty of other good shopping centres in and around town. There are also several good parks, such as Albert Park, Stewart Park, Newham Grange Farm and Prissick Plaza.

You will have a fantastic time in Middlesborough!
