Folkestone is an English town with an important port. It is located in Shepway District, in the county of Kent.
Considered to be one of England's most lively places, Folkestone is very popular with students since it has a lot of leisure activities, a bustling port, beautiful beaches, a theme park, and everything you need to enjoy yourself.
The building of the Channel Tunnel, which connects the town with the French city of Calais, has made Folkestone the main entry point to Great Britain.
The town also offers a great number of cultural activities. You can visit the Metropole Galleries, with a variety of interesting contemporary exhibitions in a beautifully restored 19th century building and Ebonytwist, a contemporary art gallery that focuses on art by both local and international artists.
For those who like activities in the open air, Folkestone has many parks and sports complexes and it has facilities for watersports too.
Folkestone is a modern town where you can find something fun whenever you want!
