Saint Albans is a city in southeastern England. It is on the banks of the River Ver, on the outskirts of London.
Among its main landmarks and sights are the cathedral, the Abbey of St. Albans, the 15th century bell tower, or clock tower, and the remains of the walls of the Roman town of Verulamium, the best preserved in Britain. We recommend a visit to the Museums of St. Albans, Verulamium and the Organ.
You can alternate cultural and historical visits with shopping in shops that sell everything from antiques to top clothing brands. There are also several good restaurants and pubs in town. On Wednesdays and Saturdays you can explore the bustling St. Albans market, which was established over one thousand years ago.
You will also find modern shopping centres, like Christopher Place and Maltings.
We recommend visiting the famous Rose Gardens, Verulamium Park and Clerence Park.
The nightlife is good and features great theatres, pubs and clubs, including some that regularly host live music. The restaurants serve excellent local and international cuisine.
You will be able to try cycling, golf, horse riding, fishing and many more activities in town.
You will find a good selection of hotels, Victorian guesthouses and cosy B&Bs. Saint Albans awaits you, come and discover it!
