The city of Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland.
To the north of the city are a series of hills, among which is Cavehill, famous for its role in the classic novel "Gulliver’s Travels".
We highly recommend a visit to the Giant’s Hill archaeological site, which is over 5,000 years old. Another interesting place to visit is Belfast’s Town Hall, built between 1888 and 1906 and remarkable for its dome and its balustrade. You should also take the time to go and see the Linen Hall Library (1788), Queens University (1845), St. Anne’s Cathedral, Stormont Castle (1830) and the Albert Memorial Clock Tower, which is 30 metres high and a landmark of the city.
You should also make time to visit the Harland and Wolf shipyards, which built the Titanic in 1912, and the Ulster Museum, the Grand Opera House and the modern Waterfront Hall cultural centre.

Belfast : Sightseeing in a (former) warzone
by SmithsterBelfast was once famous for hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Today it’s cleaned up its warring image (if you forget about the very recent hiccup in the peace process) to offer city-breakers a fine choice for a weekend escape. That’s not to say that the city’s “troubles” need to be forgotten for those wanting a more of a macabre touristy moment. Book one of the Black Taxi Political Tour sightseeing tours, and get an insider’s opinion on all the key sites around Belfast’s notorious Republican and Loyalist areas. The chances are your cab driver will have been a former political prisoner who will guide you to all the hot death spots and to see the graffiti which still remain. Just remember to take what you hear objectively though

Enjoy the Caic, Belfast
by SmithsterYou won’t be stuck trying to find places to drink the black stuff in Belfast. I tried the Crown Liquor Saloon, which is both Victorian and wonderfully baroque. And if you’re looking to get really lively, then check out the craic at the John Hewitt, which hosts live music most nights. Live music is supposed to start at 10pm, but musicians tend to roll in then, sink a pint or two, meaning events tend to kick off a bit later. But what’s the hurry. It’s what I call Belfast cool
