Our travellers’ opinions on United Kingdom

Edinburgh - the UK's real capital
by AlexLondon usually gets all the attention when people talk about the best places to go in the UK. But visit Edinburgh and you’ll find an altogether nicer city, that’s chock full of ancient and historic buildings, friendlier people, and is altogether easier to navigate. Edinburgh’s biggest draw apart from the magnificent castle and old town is the way it constantly draws on its’ heritage. You can’t escape the whiskey tasting, the wall-to-wall kilt shops, and enough woolly garments leave the sheep surrounding the city well and truly fleeced. The Fringe Festival and Hogmanay are the liveliest times to visit, but regardless of the time of year to go, Edinburgh remains one of the best places in the UK to enjoy a wild night out. It’s also where, after a few whiskies, visiting girl groups are brave enough to find out what men really do wear under their kilts
