Sharjah is one of the seven United Arab Emirates, and it has land on the shores of both the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It has more than 5,000 years of history, and, according to UNESCO, is the cultural capital of the Emirates.
You can visit the Islamic Museum, the Art Museum, the Archaeological Museum, the Science Museum and the Planetarium. Other attractions are Sharjah Fort, the University and a great many buildings with some magnificent architecture.
