Trinidad is the largest island in the country of Trinidad and Tobago, in the Caribbean Sea. It is opposite the Venezuelan coast and its capital is Port of Spain. The highest point on Trinidad is the Cerro del Aripo.
The Diego Martín Valley and the Blue Basin falls are stunningly beautiful. As for beaches, the best are on the north coast. They are golden sand beaches bathed by crystalline, turquoise water and with wooded mountains as the background. On the northeast coast is Balandra Bay, a favourite among bodysurfers.
Blanchisseuse Bay is a picturesque beach surrounded by palm trees. Here you can have a swim in the freshwater of the river and the lake nearby.
In the steep terrain of the Grande Riviere, you can see giant turtles that come to spawn on the beach, while Salibea Bay is the perfect place for a swim.
