Tobago is an island in the Caribbean Sea located opposite Venezuela. It is part of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and its capital is Scarborough, a colourful port with colonial streets. A visit to its traditional market and trying the popular Seamoss drink are a must here.
Most inhabitants are of African origin and have their own dialect.
Its an excellent destination of splendid beaches, quiet towns and quality facilities and resorts. The place is also popular among golfers since it has some well-known courses.
The coastline of Tobago is perfect to do water sports such as water skiing, windsurfing, diving, swimming, sailing and fishing. There are a number of bird watching and nature tours in the tropical forest of Bloody Bay and in the Louis d’Or river valley.
Glass-bottom boats will allow you to explore the coral reefs and there are also snorkelling tours available.
The east of Tobago is home to reefs that run parallel to the coastline. Go diving near the town of Arnos Vale and see the many exotic fish that live here. Pigeon Point is also a good place to dive, although the Speyside area is the best.
Take a boat and visit some smaller islands of the archipelago.
