Ko Chang and Trat are in the east of Thailand, and in fact the province of Trat is the stepping stone to Ko Chang island; Trat is also the name of the thriving provincial capital, which stands out for its many markets, where you can buy beautiful gemstones. The cuisine here includes a traditional shrimp paste, as well as fresh seafood and tropical fruit.
You can stay at guest houses and although there are not many hotels, the ones that are here are good quality. In the region there are 52 islands; Ko Chang is the largest of these, and the temperature here is perfect all year round, although the best time is from November to April.
The island's interior is wooded, with mountain peaks, waterfalls and picturesque vegetation. The coast has many beaches with fine sand, crystal-clear waters, coves, coral reefs -ideal for diving- and heavenly landscapes. There are comfortable beach bungalows, cabins, suites and luxury apartments, and nearby there are restaurants, bars and nightclubs to spend some of your free time.
Don't miss the Than Mayom waterfall and the Salak Phet bay. Other islands off the coast here include: Ko Wai, Ko Lao and Ko Kre. Come to the paradise that is Trat.
