Karlstad is the capital city of Värmland County, in Sweden. It is situated along the banks of the longest river in the country the Klarälven. It has an important port on Lake Vänern and is famous as the sunniest city in Sweden. Its natural environment is exuberant, and it has rich and varied scenery, like its coniferous forests to the north and golden fields to the south. Lake Vänern, one of the country’s biggest, is a treasure in itself, the waters of Klarälven flowing into it after a journey through the hills of Norway all the way to Karlstad.
