The city of Teruel is the capital of the province of the same name in the Autonomous Community of Aragon, Spain.
The city has many Mudéjar monuments, as well as plenty of others in other architectural styles, among which are: the Cathedral of Santa María de Mediavilla, which has the first Mudéjar bell tower in Teruel. There are some other notable Mudéjar towers in the town: the tower of San Martín (1315), El Salvador tower (restored in 1993), the tower of de San Pedro (1319) and the tower of La Merced (15th century).
Other important cultural landmarks are: the Franciscan Church (1392), which has a Gothic design, the Torreón de Ambeles tower (1475) and the Arcos Aqueduct (1537), a magnificent Renaissance style construction designed by Pierres Vedel.
We also highly recommend a visit to the Provincial Museum, which is housed in a building erected in 1591 and which has many archeological and ethnological exhibits.
