Peñíscola is a municipality in the province of Castellón, in eastern Spain. It is on the popular Costa del Azahar, north of Valencia.
Its walled town centre juts out into the sea. At the highest point of this little peninsula is the Templar castle, an impressive medieval fortress.
Visit the church of Santa María de Peñíscola, the Hermitages of Virgen de la Ermitana and San Antonio, the Artillery Park, the Maritime Museum and the nearby Sierra de Irta Natural Park, where you will be able to go mountain biking and hiking.
From Peñíscola’s port you can take a boat to Columbretes, an archipelago of great ecological interest that is really beautiful.
