Information about Melilla
Melilla is an autonomous Spanish city situated in the Rif region, in northern Africa. It is on the Mediterranean coast, bordering Morocco. The city unites all the charm of Africa with the History of Spain; it is a real jewel.
Among the city’s main attractions is the old quarter of the city, commonly known as Melilla, la vieja (Melilla, the old), there you can visit the Fuerte de las Victorias (the fort of victories), the Alcazaba, the turret of the Torreón de la Alafia, La Parada square, the royal wall, and the the Church of La Concepción church, among other attractions.
We also advise you to visit the Melilla Municipal Museum, a museum of history and archaeology that is currently housed in the Torre de la Vela, in Pedro de Estopiñán Square.
Melilla also has the fantastic Noray marina, which offers a large variety of facilities and activities. At the same time, the city has lovely beaches for those who simply want to rest or enjoy the activities available there, which include water skiing and swimming, among others.
