Gran Canaria is one of the largest islands in the Canaries, the archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean that belongs to Spain. It capital is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, situated in the north of the island.
This island earned the nickname “miniature continent” due to its large diversity of climates and habitats. Thirt-two of these are protected, among which the Nublo Rural Park, the Jungla Doramas (Doramas Jungle) the Barranco Aguaje (Aguaje Ravine), Tamdaba and Pino Santo are of particular interest.
The southern part of the island has the best coastline for leisure, and the Maspalomas tourist resort. The sand dunes in Maspalomas are a unique attraction, a stunning backdrop to huge beaches. The sun is not the only attraction here, there are also good restaurants, bars and shopping centres. Palmitos Park is also in this region, giving us a chance to admire its very rich bird life.
In the centre of the island nature has formed a series beautiful and imposing mountains. Gran Canaria is a destination that has everything needed to make your holidays unforgettable!

Camel Riding
by AlexGet the Lawrence of Arabia feeling right here in Lanzarote and see the island from the back of a camel. We joined a train of camels (so none could do a run for it!) leaving from the south of the island, winding through paths along the vegetation and the Arabic desert like landscape, through the village of Quemada, los Riscos de Los Ajaches, Papagayo and taking in the views of Formentera. It's also possible to book tours through the Timanfaya National Park

Exploring Lanzarote
by AlexThere's so much to see in Lanzarote apart from the beaches. Visit the small town of Uga which is located near to the National Park of Timanfaya, where it's possible to book a camel ride! It's also possible to take a boat over to the small island Hilario, taking in volcanos en route. Move on through the south of the island through Yaiza, and enjoy the panoramic views of Las Salinas del Janubio and Los Hervideros. Finally, check out La Geria (a wine-growing area) where you can visit the vineyards and take part in some wine tasting
