Ciudad Real is the capital of the province of the same name, in the Spanish Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha.
The city boasts many monuments and cultural attractions, some of the most popular of which are: the Church of Santiago, which, finished in the 13th century, is the oldest in the city and is a blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles, the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, one of Ciudad Real’s most important monuments, built in the 14th century in the Gothic style. You should also go and see the Puerta de Toledo gate (approximately 13th century), which was declared a National Monument in 1915. We also recommend visiting the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora del Prado de Ciudad Real, an impressive Gothic structure built between the 15th and 16th centuries. However, arguably the most interesting thing to see in Ciudad Real is the Puerta Del Perdón gate, which dates back to the 13th century. You will also enjoy a stroll around the Archeological Museum, which has many items on display that have great historical, archeological and cultural value.
