Castellón is a Spanish province in the Autonomous Region of Valencia, and its capital is Castellón de la Plana. The capital city is surrounded by impressive hills and as a coastal place it has all the charm of a Mediterranean city.
It has a number of attractions, including: the Main Theatre; the Ribalta Park, which has a triangular design and is in the romantic style; the Plaza De La Independencia square (known as La Farola); Tetuán Square; the Old Fine Art Museum; the Town Hall, with its classical style; the Mare De Déu Del Lledó basilica (built on two older buildings from the 14th century) and the Concathedral of Santa María, which has an 18th century image of the Virgin. There are also a number of museums to see: the Alçaments Tower Museum, the Castellón Military History Museum, the Nicoli Museum and the Fine Art Museum, among others.
