The coastal city of Almeria is the capital of the province of the same name in the Autonomous Community of Andalucía, Spain. The city is on the Mediterranean and is surrounded by the Andarax River. The coastline in and around Almeria makes up one of the nicest regions in the whole of Spain. We highly recommend a visit to the Cabo de Gata – Nijar Natural Park, which boasts a unique natural environment and plenty of things to see and do, like going hiking, fishing or simply relaxing on unspoiled beaches where you might be able to see some stunning flamencos and storks.
There are different types of beaches in Almeria, depending on where you go. To the west are the main tourist destinations, Roquetas de Mar and Agua Dulce, while lovers of nature will love the beaches of Vera, to the north. Go west and you will find Almerimar, which has golf courses and a marina, among other things.
We also recommend visiting the old quarter of Almeria, where you can visit the Alcazaga Castle. Visit the coast of Almeria and enjoy the sun and sand.
