The city of Albacete is situated south east of the central plateau, in the historical district of La Mancha de Montearagón, and today is part of the Los Llanos de Albacete district. It is also the capital of the province of Albacete, in the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha, in Spain.
Among the main cultural and historical monuments that we recommend you should visit, the following stand out: the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, which blends different aesthetic tendencies, among them: Renaissance, Gothic, Baroque and modern. We also advise you to visit the Albacete Museum, situated in the Abelardo Sánchez park, which displays an extensive collection of archaeological, fine art and ethnology exhibits. Likewise you could visit the Monasterio de la Encarnación (which was built in the 16th century), which was an important prototype for religious architecture.
