We recommend taking time to see the old quarter of Viseu, the Fortress of Almeida (17th century), the Nature Reserve of Dunas de São Jacinto, in Aveiro, the Sacred Forest of the Barefoot Carmelites (1630) and the Bairrada Museum of Wine, among others. Another interesting excursion to go on is to follow the “Cherry Path” in the Sierra de Gardunha mountain range, where you will see some lovely cherry plantations. In Coimbra you can visit the Monastery of Santa Cruz (1131), the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha (1286), and the Green Park of Montego, among other interesting places.
