Information about Madeira
Madeira is the name given to the group of Portuguese islands located in the Atlantic Ocean. The group has two inhabited islands: Madeira and Porto Santo. There are another three islands that are not inhabited, known as the Desertas islands. The Selvagens islands are also part of the region of Madeira.
The island of Porto Santo is a wonderful place. It has perfect climactic conditions and an impeccable beach of fine sand. It is said that the waters on the island are therapeutic. The sea here is a gorgeous blue and the water is always warm, in short, a true paradise.
Madeira has a great many parks and gardens, each one outstandingly beautiful. Well worth visiting is the Botanic Garden, which, as well as having a large number of native and exotic plants, carries out scientific research aiming to conserve the different species. There is also a Museum of Natural History and a Herbarium. Other gardens include: the Quinta das Cruzes Garden, the do Palheiro Gardens, the Quintada Boa Vista Gardens and the Quinta Magnolia Garden.
Madeira has everything you are looking for, lovely beaches, wonderful gardens and an incredible nightlife.
