Kristiansand is the capital of Norway’s Vest-Agder County, in the south of the country. This handsome and important city is one of Norway’s main tourist destinations.

It has a major zoo and a good theme park that offers plenty of outdoors fu. The zoo, called the Kristiansand Dyrepark is an ecological reservation that is home to many different animal species, including tigers, wolves and lynxes.

In July, Kristiansand puts on its party clothes and hosts the country’s biggest music event, the excellent Quart Festival. Another place worth a visit is the Agder Theatre. Lovers of good food will be interested by the Fiskebrygga fish market and the great restaurants that are found there. The historical centre of the city, known as the Posebyen is a good place for a walk in picturesque surroundings, with its little white wooden buildings.
