Namibia is a country in southwest Africa, on the Atlantic coast. Its capital is Windhoek.
It is named after the Namib Desert. Located in north-central Namibia is the Etosha Pan, a habitat that is home to a large variety of plants and animals of the African savannah.
The southern region of Namibia boasts some spectacular landscapes, such as the spectacular views of the Fish River Canyon, the dolomites of the Naukluft Nappe complex, the quiver tree forest in the Farm Gariganus, the Sossusvlei dunes, the Sesriem canyon and Duwisib castle.
Swakopmund is one of the most popular places with tourists on the Namibia coastline. The capital has attractive old buildings, beautiful public gardens, the Museum, a tannery and a brewery. The Epupa area is well known for its waterfalls and plants. In the breeding season, watching the seal colony is a marvellous experience. The Walvis Bay lagoon is a good shelter for migratory birds. The Brandberg massif, with its cave paintings, is a challenge for climbers. Namibia's capital, Windhoek, is located in the centre of the country and it is a cosmopolitan city with quality hotels, sophisticated shops, many museums and important buildings.
Namibia is certainly an interesting destination.
