Ouarzazate is a city in southern Morocco’s Valley of Dadés, which runs through the snow-capped Higher Atlas Mountains. It is considered by many to be the real gateway to the Sahara. Despite being the starting point for a lot of excursions into the desert, your stay in the city itself will be very pleasant and you will soon consider it one of your favourite holiday destinations when you begin to discover its delights.
You will find several film studious in and around Ouarzazate, where famous movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Cleopatra, Gladiator and other classics were shot.
The hotel infrastructure is quite large in the city, due mainly to the movement of people involved in filming. Shopping is another highlight in town, with all kinds of handmade ornaments and goods on sale in the street markets.
