Erfoud, the gateway to the Sahara, boasts some of the best landscapes in Morocco.
Erfoud, although not a traditional tourist destination, is visited by tourists from all over the world all year around mainly thanks to its location as a starting point for exploring the Ziz Valley, the Merzouga Dunes and the last oasis-town of Rizan.

You will be impressed by the palm trees of Erfoud and fascinated by the way in which dates are sold. In the village of Mali you will see men wearing traditional white chilabas dancing to the beat of hand-held drums while enjoying a mint tea sitting on the ground.
Nearby is a mountain on which you can find black stones that have fossils inside them. Visit the semi-salt water lake of Hassi Mezdanni, which is usually graced by the presence of beautiful flamingos. Experience the feeling of riding a camel and camping out under the stars amid huge sand dunes covered in Berber blankets.
