Torreon is a city in the north of Mexico, in the state of Coahuila; it forms part of the district of Lagunera.
Torreon is the site of the Hill of the Noas, where the famous Christ of the Noas stands; this the city's great attraction, together with its church. The Centinela Hill, however, is higher, at three thousand metres above sea level.
You can visit the Arocena Museum, the Museum of the Revolution and the Laguna Regional Museum, among others. This last museum is in the Venustiano Carranza Wood, which is the green heart of Torreon and is a meeting place for sports-lovers and families. Other green spaces and gardens include the Alameda Ignacio Zaragoza, the Plaza de Armas square, Las Etnias and Fundadores. If you enjoy a game of golf, then the city has some truly impressive golf courses.
It is possible to do interesting excursions with a variety of incredible landscapes to see, such as the dunes of Bilbao, a desert of fine sand where you can try out sand boarding or skiing.
