San Luis Potosí is a state in the Republic of Mexico. The state capital is the city of the same name. The city successfully blends colonial style with respect for its beautiful natural setting. It is located in the San Luis Valley, has an international airport and is a major city in economic, cultural, commercial and historical levels.
It is popularly known as the “City of Gardens” thanks to the large number of parks and gardens it has. One of the best of these is Plaza de Armas (Jardín Hidalgo), which has a lovely pink stone kiosk and is home to the state’s main institutions, such as the Government Palace (18th century) the Municipal Palace and its Baroque cathedral, built in the 18th century.
