Chihuahua is the capital of the Mexican state of the same name, in the north of the country. It is one of the biggest cities in Mexico.
The city boasts all manner of natural and cultural attractions. We highly recommend a visit to the natural wonder of Chihuahua Nombre de Dios grottoes, the Sierra Tarahumara mountain range, with its canyons and cliff walls (some of which of which are over 3,046 metres high), and the Barranca del Cobre canyons, home to some important examples, like the Urique, Nonoava, Verde, Candameña, Basaseachic, Guazapares and Batopilas canyons.
You can see many buildings of a high architectural value in the city, chief among which are: the Chapel of Santa Rita, Chihuahua Cathedral (finished in 1727), the Temple of Saint Francis, the Sanctuary of Guadalupe, the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Government Palace, the popular Paseo Bolívar path and the impressive Municipal Palace. There are also some important museums, of which we recommend visiting the Revolution Museum and the Regional State Museum. Chihuahua is a lovely region with stunning landscapes and plenty of cultural activities going on.
