Information about Kota Kinabalu and Sabah

    Sabah is a state of Malaysia located on the Island of Borneo. The state capital is the city of Kota Kinabalu. The state is the site of Mount Kinabalu. At 4,175 metres, it is the highest mountain in Malaysia and one of the highest in Southeast Asia. Kota Kinabalu is a modern capital which offers the visitor a warm welcome and the area has some incredible landscapes: beaches with golden sands, tropical islands, virgin rainforest and some stunning coral reefs. One of the zone's main attractions is Gaya Island, an attractive place which is excellent for trekking and swimming, among other watersports. Its beaches are breathtaking, and the island is a good place to see tropical rainforest. It was declared a forest reserve in 1923. If you like history, then you should see the Sabah State Museum, which was built in 1985. The complex has the museum, an ethnobotanic garden and a zoo. Not far away are the Science and Technology Centre and Sabah Art Gallery. The city of Kota Kinabalu and the state of Sabah are wonderful places, with great natural beauty and some splendid landscape.
