Puglia is a region in southeast Italy. It is the heel on the boot of Italy. Its capital is Bari, which sits on the Adriatic Sea.

The pearl of the Ionian Sea is Gallipoli. Its old centre is on a limestone island that is joined to the peninsula by a picturesque bridge.
