Hotels in Modena

Modena is an important Italian city in the Emilia-Romagna region, famous around the world for the production of Lambrusco wine, Modena balsamic vinegar and the sports car makers Ferrari, Maserati, Pagani, Lamborghini and Bugatti.

Its historical centre is located at the Piazza Grande, where you can visit the Duomo, a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture; its interior houses ancient sculptures and works of art. Nearby are the Ghiarlandina Tower and the Communal Palace. A little further away, in the Piazza Sant’Agostino square, is the Palace of the Museums, which contains the Estense Gallery. Here you can see some dazzling works by El Greco and Velazquez, among others. You can also see the Ducal Palace, which today houses a Military Academy.

Not far away from the centre of Modena is the headquarters of the Ferrari automobile company, and close to this is the Ferrari Museum, which is very popular with tourists from around the world.
