Budapest is the capital of Hungary and is recognised as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, as well as being a major centre for culture and tourism in Europe. Many of its attractions have been declared World Heritage.
Budapest is divided into 3 districts: Buda, on the west of the Danube, which has many hills; Pest, on the east of the river, and which is the most commercial area; and the Old Town, which boasts the castle and many other attractions. The city has many famous and important sites, and tourists travel from far and wide to enjoy them. For example, the Great Synagogue is to be found here. This interesting building was constructed in 1854 and it is one of the world' s largest synagogues.
Another curious place is the Széchenyi Thermal Bath. These baths, with two thermal currents of 23° and 25°, were built in 1913 in a neo-Baroque style and they are the largest baths in Europe. Two more impressive buildings are the Parliament and the Esztergom Basilica, one of Europe's largest church buildings. Visit the exotic city of Budapest and discover its secrets!

Budapest Spa Escape
by SmithsterBudapest is full of them, and there’s nothing better than alter a day’s sight-seeing to head to the city's relaxing spas. The Gellert spa is probably one of the most famous where mainly residents come to distress and enjoy the thermal waters. And for just 3100HUF (or about £10) will get you entry with a half hour massage included. Doors first opened here in 1918 so the building itself is totally spectacular – see the stained glassed windows, mosaics and modernist art décor

Budapest – Buda y Pest
