Sport activities description

This fitness mecca has row after row of high-tech exercise machines, which on-site fitness gurus show guests how use. Programmes can be found to suit each individual's level of fitness and goals, be it strength training, cardio fitness, calorie burning or a gentle work-out. The machines are made by Technogym, and they are futuristic pieces of wizardry that work with a wellness key system, which stores the user's settings and personalises the machine to the individual work-out. Restaurant 1779 overlooks the Ironbridge Gorge. The menu is an ultra-modern European mix. The hotel resides in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ironbridge Gorge and overlooks the gorge itself. Although the coal-mining industry once dominated the area, the views today are far more picturesque, with the rocky gorge and green surrounds punctuated by the majestic bridge. Birmingham International Airport is some 80 km from the hotel, while Coventry Airport is about 99 km away.

How to get there

By car: Leave the M54 at Junction 4, and take the second exit sign-posted A442 Bridgnorth. Take the second slip road leading onto the A442, sign-posted Madeley and Shifnal, Ironbridge Gorge Museum. Get in the right-hand lane for the A442 (avoid the left-lane which goes to Madeley and Shifnal). At the first roundabout, turn right following the brown tourist sign for Telford Golf Club. Pass the Murco garage on the right-hand side, and turn left at the roundabout towards Sutton Heights. After half a mile, turn left onto Great Hay Drive - the hotel is at the end of this road.
