Hotel description Tamarind great house
This charming eco hotel is built on the site of an original farming plantation that was built in the 18th century. The house has solid wooden floors made from locally sourced trees across the floor, with antiques and locally crafted furniture to enhance the feeling of colonial Jamaica. The 13-hectare farm produces fruit and vegetables used in the kitchen of the hotel. The country house offers a relaxed and safe environment, surrounded by green hills, and tropical flora and fauna. Facilities available to guests at the 9-room historical hotel include a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, currency exchange facilities, a hotel safe, mobile phone rental, a bar, TV lounge, restaurant and terrace. Guests may also take advantage of the laundry service, and those arriving by car may leave their vehicle in the car park.
Room description
The rooms are spacious with large balconies and each one features an en suite bathroom with shower, a washing machine, double or king-size bed, a lounge area and a terrace. The rooms are wheelchair-accessible.
Sport activities description
There is an outdoor swimming pool with poolside snack bar, and the hotel offers a number of spa treatments. Sun loungers and parasols are provided on the hotel's sun terrace and on the sandy beach. Guests may also go sailing. There is a golf course 30 minutes' walk from the hotel.
Meal service description
A continental breakfast is served each morning and guests may select their lunch from a set menu. Dinner is offered as a buffet, set menu or à la carte.
