The royal castle is a mere 2.5 km away. This is the ideal base from whence to explore Krakow and its surrounds, such as the Wieliczka salt mines, the winter sports resort of Zakopane, the former concentration camp of Ausschwitz and the pilgrimage destination of Czestochowa with the shrine of the Black Madonna.
