Refurbished in 2009 from a traditional Tibetan residence, the boutique hotel has 22 rooms and suites that combine Tibetan ethnic style with modern comforts. This charming hotel consists of a total of 26 rooms. Guests are welcomed into a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service. Further facilities at this establishment include a hotel safe, currency exchange, a cloakroom, café, breakfast and dining rooms, WLAN Internet access, room and laundry services, and bicycle hire. Room description
All rooms feature local handcrafted furnishings, and traditional Tibetan carpets and fabrics. Each suite features an extra living space with lounging sofa and casual furnishings. All rooms are en suite with a shower, bath and hairdryer. Further in-room amenities include a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, Internet access, and tea and coffee making facilities. Guests also enjoy the comfort of individually regulated heating.
Meal service description
Guests can enjoy traditional Tibetan food prepared by our chef from Lhasa, the Tibetan capital. Famous Sichuan flavours and Western cuisine are also available. The restaurant is laid out with traditional banquette seating, cushions and low tables. Breakfast is available from a buffet, whilst lunch is served à la carte and as a set menu. Dinner is also served as a set menu.
Hotel location description Songtsam
The hotel is located in Shangri-La, about a 15-minute drive from the city centre. The hotel provides complimentary transfers from the airport. There are a number of points of interest in the vicinity. Guests can reach Shangri-la with a short 50-minute flight from Kunming. The hotel is about 7 km from the airport.
