Built in 1700 and renovated in 2008, many of the building's original features can still be seen throughout, although the comfort and atmosphere is most positively contemporary. Carriages restaurant will tempt your tastebuds with its 1 AA rosette award, and the beautiful bedrooms can only delight, whilst the Nell Gwynn bar has a much more traditional menu for lunches and bar snacks. Conference facilities can cater for 6 to 60 people. The hotel offers a total of 46 guest rooms and has a lobby, which provides a 24-hour reception service. In the interest of comfort and convenience, the hotel provides both room and laundry services (charges apply), as well as parking for all guests.
Room description
The en suite rooms are individually decorated in keeping with the traditional features. The bathrooms are fitted with a bathtub and a shower and guests will also find a hairdryer in each room. All the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, a trouser press, direct dial telephone and TV. Irons and ironing boards are available on request. By car: from London Stansted Airport - Departures. Turn right onto Bassingbourn Road. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Thremhall Avenue. At the roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the slip road (M11 J8a). Continue onto the M11 before bearing left onto the slip road (M11 J9). Continue onto the M11 and then the A11. Continue on the A14 and exit onto the slip road, before turning right into Fordham Road. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto High Street and then left onto Palace Street which will lead to the hotel.
