Built in 1998 and renovated in 2004, this hotel has 3,500 m² of gardens and a total of 175 rooms spread over 7 floors, of which 166 are double rooms and 9 are suites. Amenities within the hotel include a foyer with 24-hour reception, a safe, a cloakroom, 2 lifts and a newspaper stand. Additional facilities include a cocktail bar, a pub, a TV room and an air-conditioned à la carte restaurant with a separate non-smoking area and highchairs for infants. Room description
All of the elegant double rooms come with an en suite bathroom with shower, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a radio, Internet access, a minibar, a fridge, air conditioning and a safe as standard. Moreover, they also have a balcony or a terrace and enjoy views either out over the garden or side on to the sea. Junior suites are similarly equipped to the double rooms, but are more spacious and come with an additional sitting area (sometimes only optically separated) and a sitting area as well as side on views out over the sea.
Sport activities description
Guests may make use of the hotel's heated indoor swimming pool (23° C), large pool with children's pool, snack bar, towels, sun loungers, parasols, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam baths. On payment of an additional fee, a massage service, aromatherapy as well as various beauty and spa treatments are on offer (products from Thalgo). Sports enthusiasts may chose from catamaran sailing, tennis (3 hard courts are to be found 200 m from the complex), table tennis, billiards, archery, horse riding and a gym (additional charges apply for certain activities). The seasonal entertainment programme with occasional live music evenings ensures that there is never a dull moment at the hotel. Golfers are offered reductions on green fees at various golf courses in the surrounding area. The nearest golf course lies some 4 km away.
Meal service description
Breakfast is available to guests each morning. A fine buffet is on offer in the mornings and evenings. At lunchtime and in the evenings, guests may also choose to select dishes from the set menu, or take the à la carte option. The former accommodation used by the German football team during the 2004 European Cup is a luxury hotel nestled amidst 20 hectares that has pine forests dotted throughout its gardens. Fine sand Praia do Garrão is approximately 800 m from the hotel (not maintained during the winter) there is a daily hotel bus service to Vale do Lobo (about 6 km away) as well as a bus service to the beach during the peak season (June until September). There are scores of shops, bar and nightclubs as well as an excellent connection to the public transport network to be found just 2 km from the hotel. Faro airport is 20 km away.
