This hotel is one of the most unconventional hotel establishments in the world. The restoration of the old arena so expertly integrated the old structure of the building into its design plans that the project received the International Architecture Award after the official opening in 1989. This city hotel comprises a total of 49 suites on 5 floors. It has an entrance hall with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, lift access and a cloakroom. The hotel also has its own restaurant, La Plaza, as well as conference facilities, public Internet access, a WLAN access point, laundry and room services and parking for those arriving by car.
Room description
The spacious suites are decorated in classic colonial style and are complete with wardrobes and original works of art. Reflecting the grandeur and architecture of the region, they give guests a taste of what awaits them in Mexico's most exciting city. All suites come with a large en suite bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer, Hermes toiletries, a dressing gown (his and hers), slippers, a direct dial telephone, a colour satellite TV, a radio and Internet access. In addition to this, every room is equipped with a minibar, an iron and ironing board, a double or king-size bed, a selection of pillows, individually adjustable heating and air conditioning and either a balcony or a terrace.
Meal service description
The elegant restaurant, La Plaza, is fitted with spectacular chandeliers, original art works and large windows, so that all guests can enjoy the beautiful view. The restaurant is built on two levels and offers excellent service, and the menu contains platters of meat, fish and poultry specialities, as well as regional delicacies of the other Quinta Real hotels in Mexico.

The hotel is located in the grandstand of the restored San Pedro bullfighting ring, which was built in the 19th century and last staged a bullfight in 1975. The city centre with its restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shopping venues and links to the public transport network is in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
