Hotel description Pingjiang Lodge
The hotel is converted from an ancient complex of houses in Si-jin style (literally, four times of entry), a traditional Chinese architecture that contains different compounds of courtyards and rooms to form a main axle. It was once the residence of the Fang family in the Ming Dynasty. Constructed in the old Suzhou style in the middle era of the Ming Dynasty, the main hall of the hotel has a history of more than 450 years and is the oldest part of the complex. This air-conditioned establishment welcomes guests into a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service. Facilities at the hotel include a hotel safe, cloakroom, TV lounge, coffee bar and restaurant. The hotel has 51 guest rooms and five halls of different sizes for conferences, meetings and parties that can accommodate up to 150 people as well as offering conference facilities for business guests. WLAN Internet access is also available. Guests may take advantage of the hotel's room and laundry services (fees apply to the latter). Guests arriving by car may park their vehicles in the hotel's car park. Bicycles may be hired from the hotel.
Room description
The guest rooms preserve the indigenousness of the building and capture the cultural aura of Suzhou. There are rooms arrayed within 11 yards, such as Tao Yuan (Peach Blossom Yard) and Zhu Yuan (Bamboo Yard). They are designed to blend with local traditions that include cloistered gardens, wooden pillars and tiled roofs, providing a cosy and tranquil environment for guests to experience the lifestyle of ancient Suzhou. Each room has an en suite bathroom with shower/bath and hairdryer. Rooms are fitted with double beds. Amenities include a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, Internet access and safe. For added convenience there is a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, washing machine and ironing set provided. Individually regulated air conditioning and heating are standard features in all accommodation.

The hotel allows easy access to different sightseeing spots such as classical gardens and former residences of ancient celebrities. To the east are the old houses of Suzhou residents; to the south is one of the UNESCO Heritage Sites, Master of the Nets Garden; to the west is the famous Guanqian Street; and to the North is another UNESCO Heritage Site, the Humble Administrator's Garden.
