This newly restored, historical hotel welcomes its guests back to the glamour of nostalgic Istanbul where travellers from the Orient Express would end their journey. Amongst these guests was Agatha Christie and one of the rooms is named after her. At the same time, expertly installed state of-the-art technology and new technological services guarantee the comfort of a luxury-class hotel. Classified as a museum-hotel its aim is to offer great service as well as a unique and nostalgic experience. Built in 1892 and renovated in 2010, the air-conditioned establishment offers 115 rooms in total and welcomes guests in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, a cloakroom and lift access. The hotel amenities include a restaurant, bar, patisserie and tea lounge. There is also a choice of rooms suitable for meetings and social functions. Wireless Internet access is available, and room and laundry services are offered for additional fees.
Room description
The hotel's rooms and suites are decorated in a classical and unique style with stylish furnishings and rich fabrics. Original 19th Century features, including precious 'White Carrara' marbles and exquisite 'Murano-glass' chandeliers can be found in some rooms. The newly renovated bathrooms are fitted with either a shower or bathtub. A daily turn-down service and complimentary wireless Internet access are available. Double or twin beds are provided in all rooms. Other in-room amenities include a direct dial telephone, satellite TV, a safe, minibar, air conditioning and central heating. A private balcony or terrace also features in all rooms as standard.
Sport activities description
The 380-square-metre spa has a steam room, hot tub, sauna and a fully equipped gym (fees apply to all spa activities). A massage service is also provided for a fee. The indoor jet-streamed swimming pool offers guests the healing power of water both in summer and winter.
Meal service description
Breakfast is served in an open buffet form. Lunch is available à la carte and dinner is à la carte or with menu choice. Representing the major stops on the Orient Express, the cuisine has French, Italian and Turkish influence.

Named after the hills of Pera and located close to the Golden Horn in the area of Tepebasi, this charming historical hotel enjoys a central location within 5 to 8 minutes' walk from Istiklal Street and the colourful Beyoglu district with its many shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife. The famous attractions of Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia) are approximately 4 km from the city hotel and can be easily reached on public transport. There are links to the public transport and a bus station just 2 minutes' walk from the hotel, and the nearest metro station, Taksim Square and Galata Tower are all around an 8-minute walk. Istanbul-Ataturk Airport is approximately 24 km from the hotel.

Everything about this hotel is great, from the location to the staff. It is quite pricey but you get what you pay for. Its
right in the heart of the bar/restaurant area, has great views overlooking the Golden Horn, and the staff couldn't have been
more accomodating. The pool is small but enough for a quick dip to wake you up in the morning. We didn't eat a lot there,
just had breakfast and a few snacks in hotel, but all were perfect. Would thoroughly recommend for a romantic weekend away.
