Hotel description Penaga
The hotel was converted from a cluster of 15 pre- war terraces and shophouses, facing Hutton Lane, Transfer Road and Clarke Street, into a heritage boutique hotel that maintains the character of the heritage zone while meeting the highest modern expectations.
Room description
Each room or suite is individually furnished with antique cabinets, benches and chairs. Softer seating of modern sofas and what we call "prima donnas", the dramatic classics of mid 20th century furniture design, are also in every room. In every room there is an original piece or more from a well known or emerging artist, as well as original natural history prints and maps that relate to Penang. Every bathroom has a Jacuzzi Spa bath and a separate shower. Toiletries are locally made, from craftsmen and women who specialize in the fragrances and products of the region.
Sport activities description
Long enough for a mildly serious swimmer, or for a refreshing dip at any time, the pool is adjacent to the restaurant but opens to the garden. A corner Jacuzzi is an extra treat where guests can relax while muscles are soothed. The glass wall along the Lorong side is a special feature that compensates for the fact that we couldn't make this an in- ground pool, and when lit at night it gives a special glow for evening diners in the garden.
Meal service description
The Cinnamon, an all-day dining restaurant serves the fusion menu that includes a few local classics. This boutique hotel is fully licensed with a good selection of wines and liquors in a relaxed ambience that are not to be found anywhere else in town.
