The 87-room hotel is a Sino-Portuguese-style creation that evokes memories of 19th century Southeast Asia. The atmosphere will take travellers back to the days of the spice trade, of tin mining, of Chinese junks plying the straits of Malacca and the golden age of travel before resorts and package tours. Newly opened in 2007, the hotel features 24-hour reception and has a hotel safe, an on-site bar and restaurant and Internet access. Room and laundry services are provided and guests arriving by car can leave their vehicles in the hotel's own private car park.

The guest rooms are en suite with shower, bathtub and hairdryer, and include facilities such as direct dial telephone, satellite TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. Individually regulated air conditioning units have been fitted in each room and balconies/terraces come as standard.

Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool, and children can have a splash in the children's area.
