Hotel description O'Donnabhain's Guesthouse
Renovated in 2009, this 10-room establishment provides a memorable and quality experience for food, drink and accommodation located in what is the hidden gem of Ireland: Kenmare, County Kerry. Facilities available to guests include a reception area, bar, pub, TV lounge and a restaurant, as well as Internet access in public areas and a cellar for storing bicycles. Those arriving by car may leave their vehicles in the hotel car park.
Room description
The en suite bedrooms are spacious and have been completed with guests' comfort in mind. In addition to a private bathroom with a shower, bathtub and hairdryer, they come with a TV with 6 channels, as well as a telephone, Internet access and tea and coffee making facilities. A double or king-size bed and central heating are further standard features in all accommodation units. The rooms are located away from the street area and towards the rear of the building as this eliminates noise from Kenmare's traffic; they are also away from the bar area to ensure that guests have an uninterrupted and very pleasant night's rest.
Sport activities description
Traditional Irish music may be enjoyed on selected nights during the main season. The reception can also assist guests with local information and things to do in the area. Guests can go banana boating and sailing (fees apply) or explore the local area on horseback or on bikes for an additional charge. Meanwhile, fans of the fairway can head to the nearest golf course, which is about 200 m away from the accommodation (charges apply).
Meal service description
The bed and breakfast area is situated on the first floor, as this gives our guests more privacy in the morning, and guests do not need to dress up to have breakfast as they have to in a hotel and can quite happily mingle with each other and swap stories and ideas on what to do and where to go. The bar with its open fire, exposed ceilings and wooden finish provides a fabulous contemporary setting with all the character of an old Irish bar.

This hotel is centrally located in Kenmare, on Henry Street, which is easy to find as Kenmare is a quaint town with a population of only 1500 people. Situated on both the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara, and easily accessible by air (Kerry Airport 48 km, Cork Airport 96 km), sea (ferries from France arrive in nearby Cork) and road, Kenmare makes an ideal touring centre from which to discover the famed beauty of the rugged coastline and mountainous hinterland. Various restaurants, bars, pubs, nightspots and shopping venues are some 100 m away from the hotel, which is about a 2-minute walk from links to the local public transport network and bus station.
