The hotel was designed and built in 2007 by Rafael Moneo, one of Spain's top award-winning architects, the designer of the Thyssen Museum's extension in Madrid and London's Tate Gallery. This design hotel was conceived to provide roomy, light-filled spaces, its highlights include avant-garde interiors using basalt, glass, black and white lacquers and concrete, and exteriors featuring materials such as stainless steel, glass and Roman travertine stone. This establishment comprises 300 rooms, 6 of which are connecting rooms - ideal for families - as well as a main 2-bedroom suite and 7 junior suites. The modern layout of the rooms blends perfectly with all the elements required to ensure the most pleasant and comfortable of stays. Furthermore the accommodation is equipped with either a king-size or double bed, individually adjustable air conditioning and heating as well as a safe.
Sport activities description
The hotel has a heated outdoor pool and a sun terrace. The new Elysium Spa is opened from Monday to Saturday with a sauna and massage lounge. Children under 14 years old have a limited access to the spa.

This hotel is located between Avenida Diagonal and Calle Numancia, right in the heart of the Catalonian capital's business district surrounded by leisure opportunities and countless restaurants and very close to 2 of the city's main shopping malls, Illa Diagonal and El Corte Inglés. The exhibition grounds Fira de Barcelon (Plaza España) are less than 1 km away and the stadium of FC Barcelona lies only 10 minutes from the hotel. The nearby Plaza Francesc Macià offers guests the opportunity to catch the Bus Turístic - the best way to visit the city's main sights. From the airport by public transport: by train, take the train towards Barcelona to Sants Station, once there, continue by taxi or subway. The closest subway station to the hotel is Les Corts on the green line. By Aerobús, take the bus to Espanya Square, once there, continue by taxi or subway. Enter the city via Gran Vía de las Cortes Catalanas, and turn off left into Entença Street. Follow the road until arriving at Calle Deu i Mata, on the left just before Diagonal Street. By car from the motorways A2 (Lleida) or A7 (Tarragona): enter the city via Diagonal Avenue towards the city centre, until arriving at Numancia street. Take a right and just a few metres later guests will arrive at Calle Deu i Mata on the left. By car from the motorway A7 (Girona-Francia): enter the city via Gran Vía de las Cortes Catalanas. From this avenue, turn left into Entença Street. Follow the road until arriving at Calle Deu i Mata, on the left just before Diagonal Street.
