    Overall, a positive experience.

    Staff friendly although transactions not always starightforward. Good central location close to the station. Good base from which to explore the town.

    Option provided to upgrade to Kingsize room with individual air-con for extra 20 CHF per night. Option accepted without being offered opportunity to view rooms and check-in completed immediately. Got the feeling we would have had to have waited if we had not taken the option. Room did not seem that wonderful for an upgrade and is what I would have expected for what we originally paid. The hotel also attempted to charge for breakfast when we left, which was included in the price.

    Basel Zoo is very close to the hotel and everything is within easy reach by rail, bus or tram. More effort should be made to advertise the free mobility pass provided by the hotel, as we wasted 70 CHF buying a virtually identical pass at the airport, before reaching the hotel.

    Very comfortable, especially the beds! Tv programmes to cater for many nationalities. Tea and coffee in rooms. Good continental style breakfast. Situated very close to tram system and main railway station. Very easy to get to and from airport. Standard for all hotels in Basel is the mobility ticket for both trams and buses. We would certainly go back to this hotel an recommend it to all our friends.

    The hotel is within easy reach of all tourist attractions by foot or short tram ride. The nearest tram stop (and one where many trams interconnect) is only 50 metres away.
